Adam Woolnough (born 24 May 1981 in Taree, New South Wales) is an Australian professional rugby league player who currently plays for the Melbourne Storm in the NRL. His position is prop. He has previously played for the Penrith Panthers and the Newcastle Knights. The 2009 NRL season was his supposed to be his last, as he announced his retirement on 19 August 2009, effective of his final 2009 NRL game aginast his old club, the Newcastle Knights on Round 26, 2009. Woolnough's reason for retirement was that he was not getting enough first grade game time, and was playing the majority of his games for the Penrith Panthers feeder side, the Windsor Wolves. Woolnough also wished to spend more time with his family and pursue other things in life.[1] However, after a year out, Woolnough returned to the NRL in 2011.
